Dog Days of Summer and the Pooch Parade
This post has been brought over from my old blog site.
Many vendors were set-up with displays – AKC, Invisible Fence, the Polk County Sheriff (We LOVE LOVE LOVE Grady Judd!) K-9 unit, the Lakeland Winter Haven Kennel Club, Lasting Paws which is a pet cremation company (I know – who wants to think about that, but we’ve needed that service in the past with a puppy that was really sick. They are extremely compassionate, kind and they really do a nice job.), Southern Homes (we built our house with them), and food vendors. They had bowls of water set out for the dogs and one vendor even had a kiddie pool so that the dogs could cool off, and a tunnel that they could go through, along with many other vendors. There was a small car show, bounce house, some radio stations, and live entertainment.
There were tons of fantastic dogs and their owners. It was great to socialize with people who have a common bond with you – we all love our dogs. Here are a few pictures from the event. I had my hands full with dogs, so I wasn’t able to take any pictures myself. Below is a pic of my husband and I and our four dogs. One is hiding behind the bench. – All photos courtesy of Susan Cook –
