Tokoma State Park, Ormond Beach, FL

We just got back from a weeks vacation in Daytona. We didn’t camp this time – we stayed at the resort my husband’s employer has for employees. That didn’t keep me from checking out the local state parks! This post is about Tomoka Sate Park.
If you’re looking for a campground that offers lots of shade – this is the place. They have beautiful, private sites. Clean bathrooms – two are renovated (I checked out one of them. Looks brand new to me.) and the other is older, but just as nice according to a volunteer. They no longer have washers/dryers, but I was told there’s a nice laundromat nearby.
They’ve got canoe/kayak rentals, an educational building, plenty of places to ride your bike, hiking trails, fishing, boat ramp, playground, picnic areas, a concession area that has lots of seating indoors and out. They will soon start having campfire talks. There’s also a sculpture in honor of Chief Tomokie.
