Fall on the Farm
Where have I been? That’s another post to be up in the future – you wouldn’t believe it!
On his days off, my brother likes to take his family on little excursions. I try to join as much as possible, especially since we are still exploring our home state. A couple of days ago we visited The Farm at Lee Martinez Park in Fort Collins, Colorado. This was the 2nd time that I’ve picked up my camera since November and the first time that I have shot for fun in a very, very long time because of my illness.
It’s hard to believe that this beautifully maintained farm is just outside of Old Town. Admission is only $3 for ages 2 and up (as of the writing of this post). It is the perfect place to take your family to see farm animals, and to learn about farming. You’ll see goats, sheep, turkey, horses, cows, ducks, and pigs. They’ve got pony rides, hay rides, a museum, a garden, a little playground, picnic tables, an area of old farm equipment, and a tractor that the kids can sit on. There’s a barn where you can go upstairs into the loft to get a view of the wonderful grounds. There are special events and holiday activities.
Here are a few images, well a bunch really, that I captured that day:
