Joy Ride Part II
After having worked the night before and having driven all morning, my husband really needed to pull over to close his eyes for a few minutes. We chose Olive Ridge Campground. He got to close his eyes and I got to walk around and take pictures!
As we left the park, we stopped so I could grab a few more pictures:
More hiking opportunities for the future! We drove by a part of Rocky Mountain National Park that doesn’t actually cut through to the main part. You park in a parking lot and can hike a trail, or you drive a couple of miles down a road and park and hike another trail. Other than that, they’re dead ends. This was Wild Basin Trailhead:
Onward! A friend had sent me a message on Facebook about a neat little church that she thought I would like to photograph. I never imaged that we would be driving right by it on accident! Saint Malo, Chapel on a Rock:
The above image is from across the street. It was late in the afternoon and it had been a long day of sight-seeing up to that point. I stayed on the main road to capture these images, although I hear that the grounds are just gorgeous! I’ll have to go back another time.
To top off our busy day, we drove into Estes Park to check out Yogi Bears Jellystone Park and to have dinner. I had never entered Estes from this road.
