The Georgetown Loop Railroad
Busy, busy, busy! I literally have had six days of non-stop exploring! My mom is in town for three weeks, and my husband and I took a trip to a ski resort for a few days. The craziness started with a scenic railway tour with my brother and mom. This first day will be broken up into smaller posts.
We headed to Silver Plume, Colorado which was about a 1 hr and 45 min drive. This is one of the two depots that serves the Georgetown Loop Railroad. The train tour that we took was about 1 hr and 15 min long. They also have dinner tours and mine tours, but it was too late in the season to do either.
I was hoping for amazing Fall colors, but we were about a week or two late. It was still amazing scenery though and something fun to do that we’d never done before.
Mid-way they stop at another depot to pick-up more passengers, before they turn around and head back to the beginning.
Our next stops will be the town of Georgetown, Oh My God Road, and Central City! Check it out here!
